My life began in struggle, and in my responses to trauma there was often ugliness I couldn’t control. I carried the weight of assaults and abuses I couldn’t reconcile, especially when society’s answer was always, ‘Toughen up. Just get over it.’ For me, ‘Choose to Stay’ became more than words — it was a reminder, a lifeline, and a reason to keep going — no matter the struggle.
